Hagstone Witchery is an informal, non-initiatory path of practical traditional magic. It draws on common threads and traveling stories found in European folklore as well as historical accounts of early modern magical methods and practices. Hagstone Witchery is spirit-centered, animistic, and rooted in the rhythms symbols of hearth and home, field and forest.
While it borrows from the published materials and ritual structures found in more formal paths of Traditional Witchcraft (such as Cochranian witchcraft), it is not a lineaged or ceremonial tradition. It has not gods or deities; it is not practiced as a religious magical path. Rather, it is intended to be a lived practice, a framework for building and maintaining a relationship with the craft.
The Hagstone Tradition initially emerged as an byproduct of my own personal magical practice. It was the βteaching traditionβ that I used to mentor to those who asked me, an organized framework for working folkloric, historically-informed magic. It has since become a sister-path to my own craft.
Everything shared here is rooted in my personal work, study and research, honed over twenty-five years of spirit-led practice since my initiation into witchcraft. This site is has been created as a resource for the magical community, in the hopes of making the study and practice of witchcraft more accessible, regardless of oneβs access to books, courses, or material tools. Hagstone Witchery is here for everyone.

This website serves as a kind of online witchβs cottage, a place to gather and share the practices, research, and reflections that shape Hagstone Witchery. Here, youβll find resources drawn from lived experience, spirit work, and long-term study, all offered in the spirit of contributing to our collective well of magical knowledge.
The writings, including entries from the Hagbook, reflect one practitionerβs perspective, rooted in a specific magical worldview and shaped by personal gnosis. Nothing presented here is intended to prescribe the βrightβ way to practice witchcraft or live a magical life. Instead, it offers one grounded, spirit-led approach among many, shared in hopes that it may inspire, inform, or resonate with others on their own paths.
